Join the MVT Family! Mesilla Valley Transportation is hiring a Mule Driver in El Paso, TX!

The Mule Driver cleans and details trucks to prepare them for new hires by performing the following duties.

Key Measures of Success
  • Follows instructions, and responds to management directions.
  • Identifies and resolves problems/tasks in a timely manner.
  • Be recognized by team, peers, and management as a key supporter.
Schedule

Night Shift from 5:00 p.m.

- 5:00 a.m. (4 on - 4 off / Nights Vary).

Responsibilities
  • Ensure trailers are parked in designated areas.
  • Perform valet duties and park vehicles in open spots.
  • Manipulate vehicles to take advantage of all spaces.
  • Clean inside trailers if needed, confirming there is no loading equipment left behind.
  • Assist trailer shop with red-tagged trailers, convey them to shop for needed repairs.
  • Responsible for fueling of the yard mule.
  • Couple and uncouple tractor-trailer units and connect and disconnect brake lines as needed.
  • Perform safety check inspection of the mule truck.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must have active Class A CDL truck driver with yard mule experience for a yard spotter position.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and operate yard equipment.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands and arms; climb in and out of equipment; couple and uncouple trailers; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Hearing and vision abilities within normal range (corrected) are required to safely operate equipment and maintain awareness of surroundings in a busy yard environment.
  • Will have prolonged periods of operating a yard mule and maneuvering trailers within the yard.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
