Position: Medical Appointment Driver (Full-Time 35hrs)

Caring Matters will be hiring a Medical Appointment Driver at 935 Pendale Rd. Under the direction of the RN/Director of Nursing Services.

Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

With a 30-minute lunch

Applicants must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and a clear Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).

Job Description

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Responsibilities and Duties

Driving individuals to and from medical appointments as assigned.

Providing supervision and direct support of individuals during transport to ensure safety, care, and support with personal needs.

Maintaining a working knowledge of individual special needs, including diagnosis, medication, allergies, etc.

Communicating with any professional if needed, as directed by the RN or delegates; and returning information to Caring Matters nursing department.

Ensuring all daily forms are completed and returned to the nursing office for filing and record keeping.

Picking up any documents for the medical file as directed by the RN.

Performing clerical tasks and other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Driver Responsibilities and Safe Driving Practices

Conform to all traffic laws, signals, and markings.
Be courteous at all times, respecting passengers, other drivers, and pedestrians.
Ensure seatbelts are used.
Take proper care of the vehicle, lock when unattended, and remove valuables from view.
Do not consume food items or smoke while operating the vehicle.
Remove any trash or debris after use.
Comply with all regulations regarding distracted driving and use of electronic devices.

Experience

Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.

Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities (preferred).

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
