Position Purpose
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse functions, including driver, loader, and staff supervision. The role coordinates dispatch, inventory control, and customer service to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to job sites while maintaining safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of building materials.
- Manage and coordinate truck dispatch to guarantee timely deliveries, optimizing routes using SRS routing technology.
- Supervise loading and unloading, maintaining inventory accuracy and prompt handling of orders.
- Implement inventory controls including purchasing, weekly cycle counts, pricing strategies, and evaluation of damaged or outdated stock.
- Lead safety audits and meetings to ensure compliance with company safety standards.
- Oversee maintenance and readiness of all logistics equipment (tractors, trailers, forklifts).
- Administer and track work hours for drivers and warehouse staff to ensure proper allocation and compliance with labor regulations.
- Collaborate with the Branch Manager on order processing, end‑of‑day balancing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position requires periodic travel within the local delivery area to oversee dispatch, inventory, and customer service activities.
Physical RequirementsWork includes prolonged sitting at a desk, computer use, and physical assistance in loading/unloading trucks, including lifting up to 100 pounds, and occasional exposure to varying weather conditions.
Working ConditionsThe role operates in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven warehouse environment, requiring adaptability, efficiency, and the ability to switch between office and hands‑on tasks while maintaining safety and operational targets.

- Proficiency in local area navigation and efficient truck routing.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is considered beneficial.
- Demonstrated leadership in multi‑faceted warehouse operations within the building materials or construction supply industry.
- Proven track record in strategic planning and execution that drives productivity and process improvements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of logistics, supply chain, inventory management, distribution, and vendor relations.
- Proficiency in advanced ERP systems for real‑time data analytics.
- Safety and compliance leadership, including audit experience and regulatory knowledge.
- Financial management skills with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control experience.
- Strong analytical and innovative problem‑solving capabilities aligned with business objectives.
- Established relationships with local vendors and suppliers in the building materials sector.

- Previous experience in the roofing industry (preferred).
High School Diploma or GED required; college coursework considered an advantage.
Minimum Years of Work Experience1–2 years of related experience in operations management, warehouse, distribution, shipping, or receiving environments.
Certifications- Forklift Certification – Preferred.
- ClassA orB Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Preferred.
- Certified Operations Manager (COM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) – Advantageous.
