ACE Peer Tutor

Job Description

Redlands Community College is seeking motivated individuals to join the Academic Center for Enhancement (ACE) as Peer Tutors. These are part-time positions, working up to 25 hours per week, with opportunities to tutor in the following subject areas:

* Mathematics

* Science

* Writing

* Social Sciences

* History/Government

* Humanities/Art

* Nursing/Allied Health

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Provide individual and small group tutoring sessions.

* Facilitate learning as a guide to assist the student to become a successful, independent learner.

* Facilitate an increase and enhancement in student mastery of concepts or applications of a specific course of study as presented by the course instructor.

* Integrate effective study and learning strategies to maximize the student's potential for academic progress.

* Demonstrate an ability to establish rapport and communicate with students and instructors.

Qualifications include:

* Successfully completed the course of study with a grade of "B" or better for the subject being tutored.

* Enrollment in at least six (6) credit hours at Redlands Community College preferred.

* Students enrolled at four-year institutions will be considered.
