This full-time AMS Field Service Technician role position based in El Reno & Woodward, OK. The technician will install, commission, maintain, and repair natural gas compression equipment and related systems in the field while adhering to safety and environmental standards. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, completing service reports, and coordinating parts, tools, and scheduling.
The role involves collaborating with operations, engineering, and customer representatives to ensure reliable equipment performance and minimize downtime. The technician will also support system upgrades, follow standard operating procedures, and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in rotating equipment, engines, or compressors, and the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
- Basic electrical and controls understanding, including troubleshooting sensors, wiring, and control panels related to compression equipment.
- Proficiency with field documentation, digital work order systems, and basic computer skills for reporting, parts ordering, and communication.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, including following lockout/tagout, PPE, and site‑specific safety procedures in industrial or field environments.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently, manage time, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to field sites, including working outdoors in varying weather conditions and lifting/moderate physical work.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate, military mechanical training, or an associate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Prior experience in oil and gas, midstream, or industrial field service is highly beneficial; natural gas compression experience is a plus.
