Senior Accountant / Analyst (Staff III/IV)
Location:
El Segundo, California (on‑site full‑time).
- Prepare and post journal entries, account reclassifications, and cost transfers.
- Execute and monitor month‑end settlement processes in SAP.
- Verify that project costs are accurately settled to fixed assets.
- Prepare detailed account analyses and reconciliations for various balance‑sheet accounts.
- Maintain supporting documentation for general‑ledger transactions.
- Provide responsive support to business unit finance managers on cost transfers, GL reclassifications, and settlement error resolution.
- Interface with internal and external auditors; provide requested schedules and documentation.
- Assist with special projects and ad‑hoc analyses as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related technical discipline.
- Four or more years of increasingly responsible and relevant professional accounting experience (Staff III) or seven or more years (Staff IV).
- Experience with month‑end close processes and general ledger accounting.
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Experience preparing account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work a standard five‑day schedule from mid‑September to mid‑December and occasionally work extended hours during month‑end, fiscal‑year‑end, and audit periods.
- Possess CPA certification with hands‑on public accounting experience.
- Advanced degree or MBA demonstrating advanced business acumen.
- Experience with government contract accounting regulations (FAR, CAS).
- Expertise in advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX‑MATCH, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables).
- Strong passion for data analysis and dashboard reporting.
