Director Of Accounting
As part of our team, you will report to the Controller. In this role you will be involved in a range of initiatives that will support our Accounting and Finance department. The Director of Accounting will be responsible for various day-to-day accounting and tax functions as well as providing support to other team members in the organization. This position requires working onsite five days per week.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Accounting is responsible for performing and/or overseeing a broad range of accounting functions, including, but not limited to the following:
- Own the month-end close process to meet close deadlines and maintain reporting accuracy, including preparation/review of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare/review monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages, including variance analysis
- Prepare/review periodic NFL reporting requirements
- Oversee cash management and the accounts payable function
- Coordinate external auditors to support the timely completion of annual audits and agreed-upon procedures
- Prepare/review income tax return support schedules; coordinate with external tax preparers on taxable income and partner K-1s
- Manage monthly sales and business tax filings and payments
- Support the FP&A team budget and forecasting process, providing insights and reviewing outputs
- Manage and develop staff providing leadership, direction, and oversight
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate accounting policies
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and control improvements and implement process enhancements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Own:
Day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and cash management requirements
Learn:
New technologies and tools to drive efficient, accurate, and compliant financial reporting processes
Improve:
Accounting processes to automate, streamline and enhance efficiency
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance required
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required
Minimum 8 years of professional accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a management role
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
Detail-oriented and well-organized
Experience with accounting systems such as Net Suite, JD Edwards or Oracle, Essbase
Hands-on experience with monthly close, reconciliations, controls and audit processes
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization
Strong multitasking skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
