Personal Financial Counselor –
Location:
El Segundo, CA – Grade: 23 – Full‑Time
We are seeking a qualified candidate to provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. The role encompasses a full range of counseling services to service members and families.
Responsibilities- Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families.
- Assist in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
- Develop and make available informational financial materials.
- Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle (arrival, pre‑deployment, post‑deployment, etc.).
- Respond to requests for specialized classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling or electronic communication modes as authorized.
- Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues.
- Participate in in‑services, training, quality‑improvement committees, and other contract activities as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Associate degree + 4 years experience or high school diploma + 6 years experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizen fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred if required.
- Ability to obtain a favorable Tier 2 investigation.
- Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
- Must hold one of the following certifications: AFC, CFP, or ChFC.
Salary Range: $53,125 – $84,995 (based on location and qualifications). May be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
