Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain good supplier relations.
- Coordinate with internal groups to ensure the steady flow of deliveries to support the project production schedule.
- Support purchasing activities and RFP requirements as needed.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships.
- Ensure vendors are properly supported to maintain the subcontract schedule.
- Ensure vendor compliance with all subcontract requirements.
- Assist and advise engineering, quality, accounting, production, and project management departments as needed.
- Regularly report vendor status to management groups.
- Monitor shipments and deliveries, advising the logistics department on the best shipping methods.
- Maintain purchasing files and documents.
- Prepare documents for Buy America compliance and audits.
- Prepare reports for DBE compliance.
- Maintain regular vendor communications through meetings, emails, or other communication forms.
- Travel will be required (domestic and international).
- Reconcile vendor invoices.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with diverse personality and cultural groups.
- 3+ years of working experience in the rail industry, preferably in a purchasing or contracts capacity.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
- Ability to work independently or with minimal oversight on standard problems.
- Ability to organize and prioritize to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to analyze current processes, identify areas of inefficiency, and suggest improvements.
- Ability to read, understand, and discuss basic technical concepts.
- Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and documents is a plus.
- Strong background in managing multiple supplier issues simultaneously is desired.
- Bachelors Degree in Business or a related area, or equivalent experience in Purchasing or Contract.

Salary Max: $110000
