Overview:

The Court Operations Specialist performs procedural functions necessary to initiate, maintain, and finalize court cases and related judicial actions within the Clerk’s case management systems and courtroom operations. The Court Operations Specialist supports the accurate progression of cases through the judicial process in accordance with statutes, court rules, judicial direction, and established procedures.

Starting salary will not exceed 10 percent of the base salary

  • Case Record Initiation & Maintenance
    • Initiates and maintains court case records by processing filings, updating case information, scheduling events, and managing case activity within authorized systems in accordance with statutes, court rules, and established procedures.
    • Coordinates case progression with judicial offices, justice partners, and internal divisions to support timely and accurate case movement.
  • Court Proceedings Support
    • Performs courtroom attendance functions and documents judicial actions to ensure proceedings are accurately captured in the official record.
    • Carries out court direction during hearings and related proceedings, prepares and processes court documentation, and maintains custody and security of exhibits and case materials as authorized.
  • Record Implementation, Financial Actions & Compliance
    • Implements post‑court actions and updates case outcomes within authorized scope, including processing court‑ordered obligations such as fines, fees, costs, restitution, bonds, or related financial statuses as directed by court order and established procedures.
    • Ensures confidentiality, statutory compliance, and accuracy of case records and associated transactions, and identifies or escalates discrepancies as appropriate.
FUNCTIONAL ASSIGNMENT & CROSS TRAINING
  • Employees may be assigned to perform duties at various stages of the case lifecycle, including record initiation, case management, courtroom proceedings, and post‑court implementation, based on operational need, training, and demonstrated proficiency.
  • The position encompasses the full scope of functions described in this document; however, individual employees may perform specific functions or assignments at any given time.
  • Assignment to a particular function or location does not limit the responsibilities of the classification.
  • Employees are expected to participate in cross‑training to maintain operational continuity and service coverage. Cross‑training may include temporary or rotational assignments to related functions within the Clerk’s Office. Performance of cross‑trained duties occurs only when assigned and within established procedures and authorized access.
  • Assignment or rotation of duties does not change the classification, compensation status, or primary role of the position.
LEAD & ADVANCED FUNCTIONS
  • Based on demonstrated proficiency, training, and operational designation, employees may be assigned advanced or lead responsibilities in support of workflow accuracy, continuity, and staff development.
