Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Capture Team Lead to join the Advanced Government Space Systems business development and strategy team in El Segundo, CA. The position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) and focuses on our Department of War space and ground portfolio for the mission areas of MILSATCOM and supporting ground segments. Success requires a comprehensive understanding of customer missions, design and development operations of space and ground systems, complex business cases, and relationships with the U.S. Government and U.S. Space Force.

Position

Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day MILSATCOM captures, including strategy for new space and ground business and oversight of campaigns.
  • Own internal research and development investments in support of campaign capture activities.
  • Drive internal technology roadmaps and oversee Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) studies for technical performance, resilience, life‑cycle cost, and key customer needs.
  • Lead solicitation responses (RFPs, RFIs, BAAs, OTAs, RPPs) and develop winning strategies to meet customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain customer and stakeholder relationships and interface with internal Boeing resources.
  • Understand the global competitive landscape and develop strategies to position Boeing capture for success.
  • Analyze competitors’ products and services to inform market positioning.
  • Interact with senior executive leadership to provide timely information and recommendations on capture direction.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 5+ years of experience working with U.S. Government customers.
  • 3+ years of experience preparing and delivering presentations or proposals to management and clients.
  • Experience as a capture team or sales lead.
  • Experience in program or project management.
  • Ability to lead through influence and partner with cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies.
  • Experience managing government contracts or programs.
  • Ability to develop operational/marketing plans, manage program funds, and write white papers.
  • Understanding of global industry trends and customer opportunities.
  • Track record of cultivating partnerships and innovative business models.
  • Experience in consultative sales for sophisticated technical products on major U.S. defense acquisition programs.
  • Experience with proposal teams and negotiating contracts with external customers.
Conflict of Interest

Travel

The position may require traveling up to 20% of the time.

Relocation

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered to qualified internal candidates.

Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities, including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid and unpaid time away from work. The 401(k) plan includes employer match up to 10% of eligible pay with immediate 100% vesting. Student Loan Match is available for eligible enrolled employees. Summary pay range: $129,200 – $174,800.
