Are you a news leader with a passion for accuracy, storytelling, and community impact? Spectrum News is seeking a talented Sr Mgr, News Gathering to lead our team in delivering compelling, informative news coverage.

Spectrum News is made up of over 30 hyper‑local news and regional sports networks dedicated to producing original, unbiased and high‑quality content. We use innovative journalistic approaches, backed by comprehensive research, to engage and inform viewers on the most essential news, issues, and events taking place in their communities.

Beyond TV news distribution, our newsrooms publish via the Spectrum News app and connected television. We’re committed to providing viewers with 24‑hour news—no matter how, when and where they want it.

As Sr Mgr, News Gathering Ops, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of news gathering related to the network's daily production of news content and programming. You will lead a team of assignment desk personnel and supervise the activities of reporters who are responsible for bringing each news story to life. It will be your duty to ensure that the editorial and production values of news programming meet Spectrum News’ high standards consistently.

By driving viewership, growing our audience, and strengthening the brand, you will play a critical role in shaping the network's future. You are an essential part of a collaborative team that produces compelling, timely, and accurate newscasts intended to engage and connect with our local audience.

• Being responsible for the entire news gathering process, from conception to the air, and ensuring that the network's editorial and production values are consistently met.
• Building relationships with community leaders, politicians, and other stakeholders to stay informed about important issues in the area.

• Experience:
  
  Senior or unit producer at a news station – 5+ years.
• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in journalism, graduate degree preferred.
• Technical skills:
  Demonstrated news judgment, with knowledge of current local news and news makers.
• Skills:
  
  Communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
• Abilities:
  Ability to analyze situations or data requiring an in‑depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
• Schedule:
  
  Ability to work different shifts or longer shifts due to “breaking news” and severe weather emergencies, ability to work weekends and holidays.

Normal office environment.

Base pay generally between $96,300.00 and $. Compensation will consider skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Offers may include additional incentive‑based compensation such as bonuses.
