Propulsion Technician (OTW) Senior Second Shift – Millennium Space Systems
Millennium Space Systems, part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), is a fast, agile small satellite company focused on national security space.
Position Overview:
The Propulsion Technician’s main responsibility is to execute orbital-tube welding for satellite propulsion systems and to carry out various fabrication, integration, and testing tasks for space‑flight hardware and related support equipment. The role requires the ability to work second shift.
- Perform orbital tube welding for the fabrication of tube subassemblies and final propulsion tank closeouts
- Assemble, install, test, route/terminate/stake/wrap thermistors, heaters and non‑flight thermocouples on spacecraft assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and written procedures
- Visually inspect propulsion assemblies against drawings, engineering specifications, and test procedures
- Operate various materials handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lift equipment, flight vehicle transportation equipment, truck/tractor trailer combinations, and other GSE as required
- Travel may be required to support operations identified by the program being supported
- Operate a wide range of tools including orbital tube welding machines, tack welding machines, drill press, grinders, power and hand tools
- Interface and work closely with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Procurement, and Shipping personnel on procedural issues involving design, methods, tooling, cost, and other product quality controls
- Support in areas defined by Millennium Space System Leadership as business needs require
- Cross‑train and mentor new hires
- Perform other duties as assigned
100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. The role is primarily second shift, with possible additional shift requirements.
Security Clearance & Export Control RequirementsThis position requires obtaining a U.S. Security Clearance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance. The position also requires Export Control compliance; therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in propulsion assembly on high reliability products, preferably aerospace
- Minimum 1 year experience in orbital tube welding
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, harness wiring diagrams, and specifications
- Experience using inspection tooling (calipers, micrometers, DMM, depth gauges, etc.)
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
- Experience with heater and thermistor installations
- Experience using various hand and power tools
- Experience mixing epoxy materials
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- 5+ years of aerospace experience
- 5+ years of orbital tube welding experience
- 2+ years performing thermal system component installation in aerospace
- 2+ years of harness assembly and routing
- This is a union‑represented position governed by the CMMIC Local 721
- Hourly position
- New hires and employees transferring from non‑union roles may be required to attend or complete training within their 90‑day probationary period

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications.
Summary pay range:
Grade 24: $29.42 – $47.09.
