Aerospace / Aviation / Avionics, Systems Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Electrical Engineering
Overview
Amca is building airplanes for the 21st century, starting by designing new hardware that flies on today’s planes. Aviation was once humanity’s boldest ambition, but the industry hasn’t successfully built a new plane in 40 years. We don’t think it has to be this way.
Across much of aerospace, test infrastructure is fragmented and constrained by legacy equipment and processes, pushing qualification downstream and limiting its impact on product design. At Amca, we’re fixing that by bringing design, build, test, and qualification under one roof.
This role is a hands-on opportunity for someone who wants to be a part of Amca’s plan to build and test the right way. In this role, the Prototype and Qualification Test Tech will perform functional and environmental testing, support and assist with test infrastructure development, and work directly with design and manufacturing to shape product decisions early.
ResponsibilitiesSupport functional, environmental, and qualification testing for new product programs from early prototype through qualification for varied product types (Electronics/Avionics, Motion Control Hydraulics and Power Electronics).
Execute defined test methods and procedures defined for specific end-use requirements or certification needs.
Support the Prototype and Qualification Lab buildup, commissioning, and operation, including environmental test equipment set-up and use.
Build and troubleshoot in-house test fixtures and setups to support functional and environmental testing.
Work closely with build and test engineers to provide early feedback for testability.
Working knowledge of relevant aerospace and defense test procedure standards, including:
DO-160
MIL-STD-810
MIL-STD-202
Hands-on experience with aerospace and defense hardware functional and environmental testing.
Test set-up, troubleshooting, and working directly with physical systems in a lab environment.
Experience supporting Avionics, Electromechanical, or Power Electronics systems Functional Testing (ATP) and Qualification Testing efforts, including environmental, shock and vibration, etc.
Working familiarity with CAD, PDM and GD&T.
Comfortable operating within a highly collaborative, cross-functional team.
