Mechanical Structural Engineer

EVONA are currently supporting an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Structural Engineer to support the design and analysis of complex mechanical systems operating in demanding environments within the advanced energy and power generation sector.

This role blends mechanical design with structural and first-principles analysis, supporting hardware from early concept through testing and validation. It suits engineers who enjoy understanding how and why things work, not just modeling them.

• Structural design of load-bearing assemblies and high-temperature components
• Trade studies and concept development to meet performance and safety requirements
• Thermomechanical, static, fatigue, vibration, and shock analysis using hand calculations and FEA
• CAD-based design of multi-component assemblies and BOM ownership
• Manufacturing, assembly, and test planning for structural subassemblies
• Technical risk assessment, including FMEAs, and support of design reviews

• Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or Structural Engineering
• 2+ years’ experience in mechanical or structural design and stress analysis
• Strong first-principles skills, including free-body diagrams and load path reasoning
• Hands‑on experience with FEA tools and tolerance‑driven design (GD&T preferred)
