As an EH&S Principal Specialist with Raytheon’s El Segundo, CA EH&S team, you’ll bring to the table your solid experience administering EH&S plans, procedures and programs. In addition, you’ll use your strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence internal and external groups including engineers, factory line employees and management.
Responsibilities- Under the direction of the EH&S Manager, support and implement Safety and Environmental programs including, but not limited to, LOTO, Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding, Contractor Safety, and Job Hazard Assessments
- Monitors, administers, evaluates and coordinates company EH&S programs to ensure a safe workplace
- Develops and advises employee workplace programs related to safety and environmental health
- Coordinates confirmation of policies and programs in accordance with industry and government regulations
- Collaborates across departments to achieve and maintain consistency of EH&S program implementation
- Conduct regular site inspections for compliance with EH&S programs
- Analysis of leading and lagging safety performance indicators for trends to drive corrective actions
- Serve as EHS representative for assigned building and functional safety council
- Conduct injury investigations and root cause analysis, develop corrective actions and track to completion
- Contribute to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement
- Develop programs, processes and procedures to improve EH&S programs, culture for employees and contractors
- Support the improvement of business and site EH&S communications plan
- Support emergency response and enterprise preparedness programs
- Provide instructor led training on various safety topics
- Provide support for other site EH&S programs such as safety and environmental
- Support the site to meet EH&S requirements for upcoming internal and external audits including Cal VPP, AS9100 and other internal company assessments
- Interpretation of OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI standards and regulations
May need to travel to support Enterprise and Raytheon initiatives
This job is posted as ONSITE, and is based at Raytheon’s El Segundo, CA facility.
Qualifications You Must Have- Typically Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience
- Experience with either data analysis or root cause / corrective actions
- Experience managing safety programs.
- Experienced conducting and/or developing creative EH&S training.
- Ability to handle potentially stressful situations
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, but will not hesitate to seek additional information from supervisors or peers so tasks can be completed in a timely and accurate manner
