Senior Space Systems Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support a government-focused space reconnaissance and Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission set. This position is on-site in El Segundo, CA. The Senior Systems Engineer will lead end-to-end technical acquisition, system integration, and engineering oversight.

Responsibilities for the Senior Systems Engineer include:

• Lead the complete systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements definition, verification, integration, and testing
• Manage technical baselines, ICDs, architecture products, and system performance requirements
• Oversee and participate in SRR, PDR, and CDR reviews while evaluating contractor technical solutions
• Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks using trade studies and modeling/simulation tools
• Integrate space, ground, and communications segments to ensure system maturity and operational readiness

Required Qualifications for the Senior Systems Engineer include:

• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, system integration, and lifecycle management within the DoD environment
• Expertise in Space Domain Awareness systems including sensor networks, analytics pipelines, orbit determination, data fusion, and space object tracking
• Bachelor’s degree
• Active TS or TS/SCI

Compensation for the Senior Systems Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $180,000 – $200,000 depending on experience
