Job Summary
Principal Modeling Analysis & Simulation Operations Engineer – Onsite, El Segundo, CA (2222 E Imperial Hwy, Building R09). Requires U.S. citizenship and a DoD Secret clearance. The role supports Integrated Solutions & Modeling Architecture engineering team in air and space domains, developing variable‑fidelity models and simulations, evaluating mission scenarios, and creating metrics and results products.
Responsibilities- Support multiple IRADs, CR&Ds, and programs as part of design, development, and integration of variable‑fidelity computer models and simulations.
- Generate virtual and analytical solutions to identify technology gaps, demonstrate operational benefits of new mission concepts (e.g., Manned‑Unmanned Teaming), develop requirements, test systems, and train operators.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and business alignment.
- Evaluate end‑to‑end system needs to discover system interfaces and data connectivity requirements across the kill chain.
- Model system and mission kill chains (e.g., intercepting a threatening ballistic missile) using tools such as Government, Commercial, and Raytheon simulations (AFSIM, STK).
- Develop metrics and results products that communicate the chain of events that led to an action.
- Implement algorithms to provide next‑generation performance across the entire system of systems.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with radar (RF), electro‑optical (EO), and/or infrared (IR) sensing systems.
- Proficiency with scripting languages Python, MATLAB, and/or Perl.
- Experience with AFSIM Military Operations Analysis, wargaming and/or Modeling & Simulation in defense industry.
- U.S. citizenship and a DoD Secret clearance (required before start date).
- Active Top Secret clearance.
- Advanced degree in STEM.
- Experience with Numerical Optimization Techniques, Analysis of Alternatives, or Design of Experiments.
- Experience providing briefs and presentations to U.S. government customers.
- Programming skills in C, C++.
- Salary range: $112,000 – $224,000 USD.
