Systems Engineer – Digital Signal Processing (Associate or Mid-level)

The Boeing Company, Boeing Defense, Space & Security, is seeking Associate or Mid-level Systems Engineers to join the Space and Launch Engineering team in El Segundo, California, to design and develop state‑of‑the‑art space‑based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security programs.
- Design and develop next‑generation RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems.
- Develop and verify multi‑rate, fixed‑point digital signal processing architectures.
- Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces in the development of communication digital payloads.
- Develop performance and link budgets.
- Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models.
- Assist with conducting trade studies.
- Develop prototype demonstrations on flight‑like communication subsystem testbeds.
- Support unit‑level integration and performance simulations.
- Support ASIC and FPGA level system design and verification.
- Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell‑offs.
Due to security requirements, this position is expected to be fully onsite in El Segundo, CA.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Education or experience in signal processing with 2 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience, or non‑US equivalent qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a similar degree in signal processing or algorithm development focus.
- Master’s degree in or a similar degree in signal processing or algorithm development focus.
- Development of algorithms for hardware implementation on ASICs or FPGAs.
- Digital Signal Processing based classes, projects or work experience.
- Simulink experience in work or school.
- Python, C++, or other languages acceptable.
- Substantive involvement and/or leadership in group‑oriented project work.
- Verification planning and principles, while applying their theoretical knowledge in resolving real world problems.

CompensationSummary pay range for Associate Level: $98,600 – $133,400.
Summary pay range for Mid‑level: $119,850 – $162,150.
Security Clearance & Additional RequirementsThis position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre‑Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.
