6 Month Contract

Pay rate: $30-35/hr W2

This role works closely with manufacturing, operations, vendors, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure tooling meets quality, cost, schedule, and safety requirements. The candidate shall have the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment, adapt to processes and company policy while providing input or methods of process/design innovation.

Key Responsibilities - Develop tooling concepts and support equipment for new and existing programs - Design tooling and equipment, including engineering drawings, inspection requirements, and verification plans - Work closely with Tool Designers to create and finalize drawings - Review designs for manufacturability, fit, form, and function - Manage tooling projects, including cost, schedule, procurement, and fabrication - Interface with internal customers and design review teams to ensure requirements are met - Support vendors during fabrication and inspect fabricated tooling for drawing compliance - Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, and process engineering to support program quality, delivery, and cost objectives - Support continuous improvement initiatives and proactive problem-solving Safety, Process, and Compliance - Design safe and efficient tooling layouts and manufacturing processes - Identify and mitigate safety risks in accordance with company and state/government standards - Support investigations related to root cause analysis, non-conformances, and process failures

Basic Qualifications:

- Experience with industry standard design tools including NX CAD, CATIA
- Knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication processes & machine shop practices

- Experience with drawing release criteria and related documents for:
- Completeness, clarity, and dimensional accuracy;
- Correctness of materials and processes;
- Conformity to design/drafting standards (e.g. GD&T), design specifications, and practicability;

- Economy of fabrication, assembly, and installation.
- Knowledge and application of GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2018).

- Knowledge and application of drawing weld symbols.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong organizational skills in managing time, projects, and resources.
- Technical attention to detail.

- Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance & special program access
