Position Overview
Entry-Level Systems Engineer (Digital Communication & Networks Systems Engineer). Join the Space and Launch Engineering team in El Segundo, California, to design and develop next‑generation RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security programs.
Responsibilities- Design and develop next‑generation RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems.
- Develop and verify multi‑rate, fixed‑point digital signal processing architectures.
- Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces for communication digital payloads.
- Develop performance and link budgets and conduct analysis of signal‑processing models.
- Assist with trade studies and develop prototype demonstrations on flight‑like communication subsystem testbeds.
- Support unit‑level integration, performance simulations, and ASIC/FPGA‑level system design and verification.
- Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell‑offs.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Education or experience in signal processing.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a focus on signal processing or algorithm development.
- Master’s degree in a related field is desirable.
- Experience developing algorithms for ASIC or FPGA hardware implementation.
- Experience with digital signal processing classes or projects.
- Simulink experience in work or school.
- Programming experience in Python, C++, or other relevant languages.
- Substantive involvement or leadership in group‑oriented project work.
- Verification planning and principles knowledge applied to real‑world problems.
- Must be 100% onsite in El Segundo, California.
