Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer with a minimum of 5 years' experience to join our dynamic team. The role involves creating statements of work, processes, procedures, and production layouts for the manufacturing of tooling assemblies, machining, and material handling equipment. Candidates with composite manufacturing expertise are highly preferred.

This position will work closely with the tooling design team and in-house fabrication group to convert complex tooling designs into instructions for suppliers. The engineer will act as a liaison between manufacturing suppliers and the tooling group and ensure supplier adherence to quality, cost, and schedule standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop tooling packages for supplier bid processes in collaboration with the procurement team.
• Read, analyze, and evaluate complex GD&T drawings, identifying any missing or deficient information.
• Track and monitor supplier performance, providing technical support related to tool manufacturing.
• Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to assist suppliers in manufacturing tooling.
• Identify and recommend improvements or revisions to tool design layouts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design, Analysis, Quality, Materials, and Manufacturing, to meet all tooling requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and activities related to estimating, RFQ/RFP/RFI, and ROM pricing.

Basic Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering/scientific discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing engineering facility or equivalent.
• Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Composite manufacturing experience.
  • CAD solid modeling and drafting experience, especially with NX/CATIA.
  • Proficiency in GD&T best practices.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Background in tooling design, mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills; able to work both independently and in teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time.
