Electronics Parts, Materials, and Processes Engineer; Senior Engineering Specialist

What You’ll Be Doing

Support parts, materials, and processes (PM&P) program management functions, including PM&P selection commensurate with application risk tolerance, control boards, design reviews, and manufacturing readiness reviews.

Act as a senior technical authority, consultant, primary investigator, or team leader in PM&P management and serve as a subject‑matter expert in evaluation, selection, and use of commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) and military electronic parts for national security space and missile applications.

Lead or organize interfaces between customers and Aerospace technical and management staff as required.

Coordinate large‑scale technical efforts across program and project lines.

Bring in tasks and projects beyond personal activities, where practicable.

Mentor less experienced team members and serve as a role model.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in materials science, electrical engineering, physics, or another appropriate discipline.
• Proficiency in PMP requirements standards development for COTS, including component selection, fabrication, packaging, and assembly.
• Experience supporting PM&P program management functions that include control boards, design reviews, and manufacturing readiness reviews.
• Excellent record of customer communication and interaction.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally approximately 25% of the time.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SSBI security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required to obtain a security clearance.

• Advanced degree from an accredited university in materials science, electrical engineering, physics, or another appropriate discipline.
• 12+ years of applicable experience (time spent obtaining advanced degree counts).
• Experience leading or managing teams to evaluate, select, and qualify electronic parts, materials, and processes for space‑related applications while balancing risks.
• Demonstrated ability to assess non‑MIL PRF parts and develop appropriate methods for use in space and related high‑reliability applications.
• Hold an active TS/SSBI security clearance.
• Proficiency in common root cause analysis tools during problem resolution.
• Experience collaborating with contractors, industry working groups, and/or associations such as NASA Electronics Parts Assurance Group, Defense Logistics Agency, Joint Electron Device Engineering Council, Aerospace Electronics Council during the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of active electronic parts for space‑related applications.
• Possess project management skills in applications such as MS Project, Jira, etc.
