Hardware Engineer, Electronics Engineer
What You Will Do
- Circuit analysis, circuit simulation, design documentation maintenance, trade assessments for obsolescence resolution, troubleshooting and resolution of hardware performance issues and hardware integration, test and verification.
- Develop firmware for FPGA-based systems.
- Support FPGA prototyping, lab bring-up, and testing.
- Integration and test of digital components and modules.
- Work as part of a team to analyze Hardware/Firmware test requirements/specifications to determine hardware and firmware requirements.
- Develop solutions to test issues and develop productivity and efficiency enhancements.
- Interact with test technicians, factory facilitators, operations managers, other engineers, Quality Assurance and Reliability personnel.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Coursework or academic project experience in circuit design fundamentals, digital logic design, integrated circuit/microelectronics design, digital signal processing (DSP) knowledge, FPGA coursework/projects.
- Familiarity with hardware description languages:
Verilog, System Verilog, VHDL. - ABET accreditation preferred.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
- Internship experience in hardware engineering.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular projects.
- Experience using FPGA development boards or lab equipment.
- Understanding of airborne or ruggedized hardware environments.
- Hands‑on lab/debug experience.
- Ability to apply basic electrical engineering principles and general knowledge of related disciplines.
- Familiarity with industry tools such as Xilinx/AMD Vivado, Intel Quartus, Model Sim or Questa, MATLAB/Simulink.
- Exposure to radar systems, digital signal processing, high‑speed interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, JESD
204, DDR), embedded processors or SoC architecture, Xilinx FPGAs. - Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, DMM.
