Space Vehicle Bus Systems Engineer

Your ability to translate real‑world needs into technical specifications makes you an integral part of delivering a customer‑focused engineering solution.

As a systems engineer on our team, you will support the design and implementation of space‑based systems to deliver resilient, affordable, and sustainable space capabilities. You will develop skills in acquiring space systems while gaining experience delivering sustained, reliable communications capabilities to America’s war fighters and allies. You will merge space vehicle development and acquisition, assess technical designs, and test programs to turn requirements into accomplishments that drive change.

Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience with space vehicle systems engineering, planning, integration, and testing.
  • 6+ years of experience with systems engineering, planning, development, integration, and testing of space vehicle subsystems and their components (structures, mechanisms, electrical power, attitude control, thermal, propulsion, communications, or command).
  • 3+ years of experience with space system and DoD program reviews (SRR, SDR, SFR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, FCA, or PCA).
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence or Jira.
  • Highly motivated, dynamic work ethic, and ability to contribute to the DoD mission.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with government clients and contractor teammates.
  • TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
Nice to Have
  • 10+ years of experience with space vehicle systems engineering, planning, integration, and testing.
  • Experience with space vehicle level tests (system performance tests, TVAC, acoustics, EMI, or EMC testing).
  • Experience performing multiple systems engineering and program management functions.
  • Experience with requirements verification.
  • Knowledge of the DoD acquisition lifecycle and milestones, and DoD systems engineering, testing, and production policies, standards, and practices.
  • Knowledge of satellite space, ground, or user segments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
  • PMP, ESEP, CSEP, or OCSMP certification.
Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. TS/SCI clearance is required.

Location / Work Model
  • Remote – May require occasional on‑site work at Booz Allen or customer facilities.
  • Hybrid – Expected to work frequently from a Booz Allen facility and may need to visit customer facilities.
  • Onsite – Primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility.
Compensation

Salary range: $86,800.00 to $ (annualized USD). Salary is based on location, education, skills, and experience, as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements. This posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.
