PGS Worldwide is seeking a Tool Engineer in El Segundo, California for a contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite position supports the Tool Design department and is responsible for designing assembly and fabrication tooling used in production and experimental environments. The role requires collaboration in a fast-paced manufacturing setting while developing tooling solutions that meet performance, accessibility, mobility, and cost requirements.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM-related field
- Experience in engineering, design, tooling, fabrication, or a manufacturing/production environment
- Experience utilizing Siemens NX, CATIA, or other 3D CAD systems
- Experience with project management
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
- Experience with aerospace tooling
- Experience working with SAP
- Experience establishing production assembly lines or cost centers
What You’ll Do
- Design industrial machinery and equipment, tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and machine attachments for production and experimental applications
- Develop assembly and fabrication tooling solutions that support manufacturing operations
- Consider accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements when creating tooling designs
- Utilize 3D CAD software to create and modify tooling designs
- Support tooling projects from concept through implementation
- Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to support operational needs
