As a Mechanical Automation / Equipment Engineer, you will design, develop, document, test, and commission automated manufacturing equipment that supports Rangeview's modern aerospace foundry. You will work across mechanical design, equipment builds, vendor engagement, commissioning, troubleshooting, and production readiness.
This is a hands‑on engineering role for someone who can take automated equipment from concept through production use. A successful candidate will demonstrate determination, integrity, curiosity, technical capability, and comfort solving practical equipment problems in a fast‑moving manufacturing environment.

- Evaluate, qualify, and engage vendors for components, subsystems, and full pieces of manufacturing equipment.
- Perform failure mode analysis to ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and performant.
- Collaborate with production, materials and process engineering, and other peer teams to ensure projects align with business goals.
- Resolve equipment and automation issues encountered in production, including developing and testing engineering changes as needed.
- Ensure equipment meets requirements for throughput, quality, safety, and footprint.
- Identify and drive improvement projects to improve current manufacturing processes.
- Document equipment clearly so complex systems are simple and intuitive to operate.
- Support equipment commissioning, qualification, troubleshooting, and handoff into reliable production use.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of engineering experience in aerospace, automation, equipment engineering, mechanical design, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Familiarity with mechanical design tools such as CAD, FEA, PLM, or similar systems.
- Hands‑on experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with industrial controls, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motors, actuators, and common controls components.
- Experience owning or supporting automated equipment builds.
- Strong mechanical design skills, including materials selection, statics and dynamics, tolerancing, component selection, and practical design for manufacturability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work full‑time, W2, on‑site in El Segundo, CA.
- Must be able to meet ITAR/U.S. export control requirements, including being a U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required authorization.
- Experience with investment casting, vacuum melting and casting, heat treatment, ceramics manufacturing, or similar manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with SLA printers, furnaces, high‑vacuum systems, thermal systems, or similar industrial equipment.
- Experience with highly regulated production environments and safety‑critical equipment.
- Experience working in a high‑growth technology company, startup, or fast‑moving manufacturing environment.
