Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems is hiring a Space Electronics Packaging and Mechanical Product Design and Analysis Engineer to join our Electronics Packaging and Product Design Team in ElSegundo, CA. We seek mechanical engineers who are passionate about innovation and eager to contribute to the entire product lifecycle—from initial design concepts to prototyping and final production—including mechanical PCB design, electronics packaging, and thermal/structural/vibration analysis.
PositionResponsibilities
- Coordinate with multi‑discipline groups to develop and understand requirements and to produce high‑level and detailed designs that meet those requirements.
- Guide structural design and configuration development by performing trade studies to optimize structure and meet program requirements.
- Perform detailed structural and thermal analysis using hand calculations and analysis tools.
- Document structural analyses and data required to demonstrate compliance with Boeing, customer, and regulatory requirements at a module, slice, and unit level.
- Collaborate with Electrical Engineering to conduct sizing and placement studies, layout, and routing of printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Validate designs through reviews, testing, and analysis.
- Develop, deploy, and support new processes and process improvements to reduce cycle time and drive product improvements.
- Conduct root‑cause and corrective action investigations to resolve failures and plan go‑forward actions.
- Track and status technical performance measures to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Support supplier management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services of limited scope.
- Investigate emerging technologies and develop concepts for future product designs.
- Work under general direction; this role is expected to be 100% onsite in ElSegundo, CA.
- U.S. citizenship required to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience with computer‑aided design (CAD) tools.
- Either experience with thermal, structural, dynamics, and/or vibration analysis tools OR experience with PCB design or assembly.
- At least 2 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Experience with in aerospace or related industry, or with space electronics.
- Experience with ANSYS, Creo CAD, Solid Works, finite element analysis (FEA), Siemens NX, Nastran, MSC Patran, or COMSOL Multiphysics.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines.
- Ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations.
- Experience leading teams on complex projects.
- Level 2: at least 2 years of related work experience.
- Level 3: at least 5 years of related work experience.

Associate – Level 2: $98,600–$133,400
Mid‑Level – Level 3: $119,850–$162,150
