Senior Electrical Component Engineer – Boeing Company
ElSegundo,CA. The Boeing Company is seeking a senior component engineer with Actives/RF‑commodity EEE device experience to support a wide variety of space programs.
Responsibilities- Collect information to support definition of requirements for Active/RFEEE parts, materials and processes used in the manufacture and engineering design of satellite and aerospace products.
- Incorporate changes to specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of materials, parts and processes.
- Perform tests to qualify new EEE parts and processes to meet requirements.
- Assist with activities to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.
- Conduct analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of EEE parts or processes.
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop production systems to satisfy user requirements.
- Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
- Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into materials and processes, research and design, qualification, work procedures, and labs and office areas.
- Maintain a Tier5 (T5) investigation or Continuous Vetting program.
- Education/experience via advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 9or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- 9+years’ experience in design and development of EEE components (Bachelor’s level).
- 7+years’ experience with military standards and specifications for design, test and documentation.
- Preferably ABET accreditation (not required).
- Component engineering experience in Active EEE parts development (e.g., diodes, transistors, microcircuits, FPGAs, oscillators, isolators, MMICs).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive closure and resolve complex technical issues or challenges.
- Customer experience in intelligence, defense, science and commercial markets.
- Experience developing materials for and presenting at preliminary and critical design reviews.
- Experience developing high‑reliability components or subsystems for space, including writing qualification plans and executing environmental tests.
Requires current Tier5 (T5) background investigation or agreement to enter a Continuous Evaluation program. U.S. citizenship required.
ShiftPrimarily first shift; additional shift requirements may apply to support program objectives.
