Job SummaryAs an Environmental Test Technician, you will set up and execute environmental tests—including vibration, shock, thermal vacuum, and thermal cycling—for components, subsystems, and satellite products. You will demonstrate integrity, intellectual curiosity, empathy, technical capability, and a strong motivation to support the environmental test resource. This role requires working the first shift.
Position Responsibilities- Execute environmental tests of space flight hardware using specialized equipment such as electrodynamic shakers, thermal vacuum chambers, and thermal cycling chambers.
- Install and operate test instrumentation and other specialized equipment, including accelerometers and thermocouples.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, assembly procedures, and test procedures.
- Work with engineering to define and refine standard operating procedures.
- Record, prepare, organize, and deliver test data, run logs, and other documentation for inclusion in final test reports.
- Maintain environmental test lab equipment and perform 5S resource activities.
- Oversee testing at outside test facilities as required.
- Support initiatives to maintain safe operations, ensure product quality, and reduce lead time/labor hours through environmental test improvements.
- Work 100% onsite at one of the listed locations.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements and requires a “US Person” (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee). Additionally, a U.S. Secret Clearance (interim and/or final) is required after the start date.
Basic Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience in production or test environments.
- 4+ years operating specialized equipment such as electrodynamic shakers, thermal vacuum chambers, or thermal cycling chambers.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in aerospace.
- Experience with thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC, shock, TVAC, and/or acoustic testing.
- Experience working in clean rooms with ESD‑sensitive components.
- Experience setting up and operating machining tools (CNC mills, CNC routers, drill presses, grinders, chop saws, power and hand tools).
- Ability to obtain clearance and to travel as required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
