Boeing Defense, Space & Security is seeking an Entry-level DSP Systems Engineer to join the Space and Launch Engineering team in El Segundo, California
. The engineer will design and develop state-of-the-art, space-based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security programs. Project assignments span the unit life cycle—from internal trades and concept studies to system definition, satellite unit development, and test. The role works closely with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists.
- Design and develop next-generation RF and digital communication systems.
- Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures.
- Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces for communication digital payloads.
- Develop performance and link budgets.
- Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models.
- Assist with trade studies.
- Develop prototype demonstrations on flight-like communication subsystem testbeds.
- Support unit-level integration and performance simulations.
- Support ASIC and FPGA-level system design and verification.
- Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-offs.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Education or experience in signal processing.
- Master’s degree or equivalent with emphasis on signal processing or algorithm development.
- Experience developing algorithms for ASIC or FPGA hardware implementation.
- Relevant coursework or projects in digital signal processing.
- Simulink experience and proficiency in Python, C++, or other programming languages.
- Substantial involvement or leadership in group-oriented project work.
- Verification planning and principles applied to real-world problems.

Summary Pay Range (Entry-Level – Level 1): $79,050 – $105,950.

Security ClearanceAbility to obtain U.S. Secret Clearance (interim or final) is required.
