Location:
El Segundo, California. The Survivability Engineer will enhance the survivability of defense systems through advanced materials and processes. This position requires full‑time on‑site work at our facility with no remote or telework options.
- Develop and integrate advanced technologies to reduce the detectability of aircraft in the electromagnetic spectrum.
- Develop, implement, and test predictive analysis codes; build and test physical models; design, develop and build test and verification equipment; and develop, test and integrate specialty materials.
- Work closely with engineers from other disciplines to optimize the integration of this technology on existing and future aircraft.
- Education and Experience:
- Engineer (LV2):
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience, or Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience. - Principal Engineer (LV3): 5 years of related engineering experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline, or 3 years of engineering experience with a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline, or 1 year of engineering experience with a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline.
- Engineer (LV2):
- Applied electromagnetics and/or aircraft survivability or comprehensive understanding of electromagnetic energy transmission through space and within materials.
- Experience in CAD software such as CATIA, Unigraphics, or NX.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a current U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance (or equivalent continuous evaluation). Any required program access must be obtained within a reasonable period.
- Experience in signature integration, RCS design, analysis, and testing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with CAE/FEA tools (e.g., FMS, Patran, Cubit).
- Experience with 3D Method of Moments (MoM) such as SENTRi and 3D Physical Optics codes such as Xpatch.
- Programming experience in C++, MATLAB, Python or other technical languages.
- Knowledge and use of RCS data processing tools such as Knowbell, Saber, or Pioneer.
- Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance and/or prior SAP/SAR clearance.
