Overview
At Raytheon Technologies, we guide national and allied defense efforts with over 100 years of engineering expertise, focusing on Airborne Radar Electronics Design (ARED). In El Segundo, California, we seek a Hardware Digital CCA Designer for radar control and radar processor electronics product development.
ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will design digital circuit cards during hardware development and integration for Airborne Radar applications. Key duties include:
- Perform component obsolescence evaluations and select electrical parts.
- Participate in vendor trade studies.
- Conduct signal‑integrity and power‑integrity analyses.
- Guide junior engineers and collaborate with systems, mechanical, and software teams.
- Deliver technical presentations and work with government personnel to define, refine, and validate hardware requirements.
- Travel occasionally for business purposes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
- 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and testing digital CCA designs.
- Experience with high‑speed mixed‑signal or high‑density digital circuit card design.
- Knowledge of bus standards such as sRIO, Space Wire, VME, PCI, PCIe, VPX, and Gb Ethernet.
- Experience designing boards with Xilinx or Altera FPGAs.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
- Fast‑paced, dynamic product‑development experience.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- 7+ years of experience in digital CCA design.
- Managing technical data in design reviews and stakeholder meetings.
- Embedded software/firmware knowledge.
- Experience with simulation tools such as Simulink, Model Sim, logic bus analyzers, in‑circuit emulators/debuggers.
- Proficiency in C/C++, Lab View, MATLAB.
- Knowledge of PSpice, HSpice, Mentor xDx‑Designer, Hyper Lynx.
- Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering desirable.
Competitive salary (95,500 USD – 181,700 USD) plus a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, holidays, and potential incentive compensation. The role is U.S. based.
