Test Engineer, Systems Engineer
Join the Advanced Products & Solutions (APS) Mission Area within the Systems Engineering Center, where we design and develop advanced radar and early‑warning sensor systems that support the military worldwide. We are seeking Radar Systems Engineers who thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy solving complex technical problems, and are eager to support innovative sensor and radar programs. This role is on site in El Segundo, California.
WhatYou Will Do
- Contribute to all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle, including trade studies, development of CONOPS, system architecture, requirements definition and allocation, traceability, integration, verification, and qualification.
- Support development, analysis, documentation, and verification of system requirements using DOORS.
- Radar mode algorithm development and system performance assessments.
- Conduct modeling, simulation, and data analysis using MATLAB, Python, and C++.
- Perform daily tasks in a classified and controlled lab environment.
- Participate in hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, and hands‑on laboratory testing.
- Support verification, validation, flight test, production, and post‑deployment activities.
- Perform trade studies, functional/physical analyses, and MBSE‑based system design.
- Prepare and present technical reports, findings, and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Travel up to 10%.
- Degree in a STEM discipline (preferably Electrical, Aerospace, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Physics) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Systems Engineering with radar algorithm design, requirements development, software/hardware integration, data analysis using MATLAB, and configuration management.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance, including a DoD Secret clearance (required).
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Advanced degree in a STEM discipline.
- Knowledge of radar fundamentals.
- Programming experience in Python and MATLAB.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic or system‑level issues, signal processing, control theory, statistics, information theory, detection methods, imaging/pattern recognition, and data filtering (Kalman, batch, optimal estimation).

- Salary range: 95,500 USD – 181,700 USD.
