Sr Mech Engineer - Processors and Electronic Packaging

Position Overview

We are seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for the Processors and Electronic Packaging section in the Airborne Radar Design department. The engineer will design electronics packaging for Airborne Radar Subsystems, including Receiver, Exciter, Processor and Power Supply subsystems, and provide mechanical engineering support throughout the hardware life cycle.

U.S. citizenship is required. The position requires an active, transferable DoD Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain an interim clearance prior to start date. Security clearance is required.

• Provide technical support on major programs and interface with Lead Mechanical Engineers and Chief Engineers to support design objectives.
• Lead smaller project teams through design development, ensuring procedures are followed in the creation of technical data packages while meeting program design objectives.
• Work from requirements to develop unit design concepts and perform design trades.
• Be responsible for developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
• Complete detailed layouts and design documentation using CAD tools.
• Provide support to suppliers who fabricate components and assemblies, including writing Statements of Work.

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM); or a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience.
• Experience with ANSI drawing standards.
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances).
• Experience with electronic packaging.

• Design experience in high-frequency environments, enclosure design, EMI shielding, and thermal management.
• High proficiency in CREO or similar 3D solid modeling software.
• Proficiency in RF principles, RF circuit card design, RF materials, manufacturing and producibility.
• Experience with antenna or processor mechanical design.
• Experience with VME, VITA, and SOSA open architecture standards.
• Experience with high-speed VPX technology.
• Experience with embedded processing technology.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes for CCAs, metal housings, and brazements, or experience in a manufacturing and assembly support role.
• Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Prior experience in Defense or Aerospace.
• Active security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD.
