Microwave Test Engineer

About the Role

As a Microwave Test Engineer in Aerospace Corporation’s Mission Payloads Division, you will design and implement innovative RF/microwave test benches, analyze test data, and collaborate with subject‑matter experts to support critical space systems. The position is full‑time and located on site in ElSegundo, CA.

• Develop test benches with microwave instrumentation such as network analyzers and/or high‑speed oscilloscopes.
• Independently analyze test data.
• Perform engineering design, analysis, and modeling.
• Collaborate onsite with fellow engineers and technicians.
• Mentor technical and technician staff.

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 1‑year hands‑on experience testing microwave instrumentation (network, spectrum analyzers, high‑speed oscilloscopes, signal sources).
• Proficiency in instrument automation using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar languages.
• Demonstrated creativity in problem‑solving and strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically approximately 10%.
• U.S. citizenship required for Top‑Secret/SSBI clearance.
• Senior Member of Technical Staff: either a Master’s degree with 3years experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 5years experience in microwave testing plus all above requirements.
• Track record of writing test procedures and generating test reports.

• Experience with high‑power microwave amplifiers or systems.
• Ability to perform microwave circuit simulations using ADS or AWR Microwave Office.
• Capability to perform EM simulations using Sonnet, AXIEM, or HFSS.
• Current active DOD – Top Secret Clearance with SCI access.

Base Salary: $95,200.00 – $ per year (grade‑based range). Pay is determined by education, experience, and skills.
