Manufacturing Engineer, Engineering Design & Technologists, Quality Engineering
We are seeking an Engineering Design II professional to support tooling design and manufacturing operations. In this role, you will design tooling, fixtures, gauges, jigs, and support equipment used in production and assembly environments while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and vendors to ensure quality, cost, schedule, and safety requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities- Design tooling and support equipment for new and existing programs.
- Create engineering drawings, layouts, and design documentation.
- Review designs for manufacturability, fit, form, and function.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers throughout the tooling lifecycle.
- Manage tooling projects, including fabrication, procurement, cost, and schedule.
- Support design reviews, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, GD&T requirements, and safety regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience with NX CAD and/or CATIA.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machine shop practices, and engineering drawings.
- Understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and weld symbols.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Tooling design and fabrication experience.
- Composite manufacturing tooling experience.
- Experience with PLM systems.
- Stress analysis experience using FEMAP/NASTRAN.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or active Secret clearance.
This is a Contract position based out of El Segundo, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
