Overview

Raytheon Field Engineering seeks a TOW2 Principal Field Engineer to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and system issues on the Tube‑Launched, optically‑tracked, wire‑guided missile system. The position is located at 2000 E El Segundo Blvd, El Segundo, CA, and requires a U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret security clearance.

• Apply strong technical expertise to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and system issues.
• Troubleshoot Circuit Card Assemblies by identifying faults, analyzing failure modes, and implementing corrective actions.
• Interpret and utilize electrical schematics to support system diagnostics, component‑level analysis, and repair activities.
• Perform precision soldering on electronic components and Circuit Card Assemblies, ensuring reliable connections and adherence to industry workmanship standards.
• Maintain a focus on high‑quality work and commitment to reliability.

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in troubleshooting complex electronic systems.
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics for analysis and repair.
• Experience performing precision soldering on electronic components and Circuit Card Assemblies.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance – U.S. citizenship required.

• Strong technical background with application of engineering principles to practical troubleshooting.
• Experience working with the TOW2 missile system.
• Active duty or reserve military experience.
• Experience working independently as a Field Service Engineer or representative.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
