ESS Terminals Systems Engineer – N Logic – El Segundo, CA
We are seeking an experienced ESS Terminals Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain complex infrastructure and software systems supporting National Leadership Authority capabilities. The role requires deep knowledge of system architecture, Protected SATCOM Terminal configurations, and security protocols to ensure robust, scalable, and secure environments. The engineer collaborates closely with external organizations to analyze system requirements, oversee development, delivery, and implementation of those requirements, leads technical projects, and contributes to best practices and documentation.
Experience with Protected SATCOM Terminals – operational or integration side – is ideal.
As part of the Systems Engineering team, the successful candidate will define the next generation of space communication systems supporting Space Force Military Satellite Communications, interface with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians, and USSF members to provide acquisition management development and support.
Required Qualifications- Active or current Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related technical field
- 8+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience (requirements, technical baseline development, test planning, integration, verification, validation)
- Experience developing or managing requirements or Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for complex systems
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Work on-site in a secure facility (security requirements)
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Master’s degree in technical field (engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or related)
- Experience with MILSATCOM systems such as AEHF, PTS, EPS, WGS, and FAB‑T terminal programs
- Experience working with military and DoD civilians
- Experience with ground and airborne systems, such as terminals and networks
- Knowledge and experience in Agile Development and collaboration tools (Jira/Confluence)
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, INCOSE CSEP or ESEP)
