Position: Antenna Sub Systems Engineer, - Associate, Mid-Career or Senior

Boeing Defense, Space & Security

Antennas Sub Systems Engineer, Associate, Mid-Career or Senior Level, to join our team in El Segundo, California.

As an Antenna Subsystems Engineer you will design, develop, and deliver state‑of‑the‑art communication systems for space‑based applications across commercial, civil and national security programs. You will work with a highly motivated team that collaborates with domestic and international customers on their latest satellite systems.

Be part of a systems engineering team that specializes in antenna subsystem design and development for satellite systems. Work with large cross‑functional teams including customers, suppliers, hardware and software engineers, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists to ensure that final products meet mission objectives.

You will perform system analyses and simulations for space communications systems (including links and capacity modeling), optimize system designs through trade studies, flow down and verify subsystem and unit requirements, develop Con Ops, and support hardware integration, verification, validation, qualification, and delivery activities.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop next‑generation RF, digital, and/or optical satellite communications systems and payload architectures
  • Support trade studies
  • Define and verify space communication system requirements and interfaces
  • Perform system‑level Con Ops development, functional analysis and requirements decomposition
  • Support system‑level integration and validation
  • Perform analysis and simulations for space communication systems, including link analysis, signal distortion, system capacity, reliability and performance
  • Develop analysis tools using MATLAB and object‑oriented software platforms
  • Develop and verify system algorithms that meet functional and performance requirements
  • Perform hardware procurement, design reviews and unit sell‑off
  • Prepare, execute, troubleshoot and verify system tests
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, or related STEM field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of work‑related experience
  • Experience with requirements allocation, verification, validation, and qualification
  • Experience with communications subsystems or units
  • Experience with DOORs, Cameo, Jira, or MS Project
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • Experience with digital communications
  • Experience with satellite or terrestrial communications systems and antenna theory
  • Experience in phased array antenna production and verification
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, C++ or Python
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices, DFMAT, and design and process FMEAs
  • Experience working with suppliers on custom part procurement
  • Track record of success working in teams
Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. The U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship and a final Top Secret/SCI clearance post‑start.

This position offers relocation support based on candidate eligibility.

Pay and Benefits

Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Additional benefit programs include health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and various paid and unpaid time‑off programs. Pay ranges are:

  • Level 2: $98,600 – $133,400
  • Level 3: $119,850 – $162,150
  • Level 4: $146,200 – $197,800
