The Amazon LEO for Government (ALG) Engineering organization is a multidisciplinary technology team established to rapidly address the needs of government and international customers with scalable solutions. ALG collaborates closely with Project Leo to leverage the constellation of advanced satellites to deliver seamless and efficient communication capabilities.

The Sr. System I&T Engineer will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to design, integrate, and test innovative terrestrial communication applications. The engineer will work closely with colleagues throughout ALG and with key partners and suppliers to ensure system performance exceeds expectations. The role requires responsiveness, flexibility, and innovation in a fast-paced environment.

As a member of the Integrated Systems Solutions organization, the engineer will develop architecture and execute the design, build, and validate complex test systems for subsystems. The candidate will design test approaches, plans, and procedures to support integration and verification of hardware, embedded software, and FPGA when new features are deployed. Additionally, the engineer will develop test architecture and equipment design to support end-to-end tests with RF systems, electronics, simulation, and emulators.

The engineer will ensure the test architecture supports all aspects of integration, test, verification, and validation of custom user terminals. Testing will include functional and performance tests under various environmental conditions to enable efficient test execution and requirements verification.

Security Clearance:
This position requires that the candidate be a U.S. citizen and must obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance of TS/SCI.

• Provide system integration and test leadership for complete hardware and software feature testing.
• Provide technical integration expertise across the full software and hardware stack, including custom ASIC, FPGA, and software deployed across multiple processors.
• Work with various functional engineering disciplines (software, firmware, system engineering, and hardware) to derive test inputs and outputs, create functional and performance test plans and procedures, execute tests, and document results.
• Leverage system expertise to lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Specify and develop end-to-end system or subsystem integration and test plans and procedures to validate performance against customer and/or partner requirements.
• Analyze test data and engage with the engineering team to evaluate product performance and suggest improvements to units under test and test support equipment.
• Work with subject matter experts to lead the architecture, design, and validation of test equipment software and hardware needed to execute test plans and procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication abilities, and experience in software development.
• Five or more years of hands‑on experience using electrical test and measurement equipment including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators for hardware validation, RF characterization, debugging, and system integration.
• Five or more years of software and firmware integration and test, or related industry experience integrating complex communication and radar systems.
• Four or more years of experience testing embedded complex systems developed in C, C++, Python, Docker, or Rust for aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics products.
• Five or more years working with test infrastructure or other systems running on Linux platforms.

• Master's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments while maintaining commitment to deadlines, and completing complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance, reacting with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround.
• Experience in verbal and written communication for executive-level leaders.
• Experience gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality.
• Ability to coordinate between engineering, test lab, and technicians and schedule testing resources.
