The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.
The Resiliency Futures Office (RFO), within the Advanced Technology Division (ATD) of NSG, is leading Aerospace initiatives for innovating and advancing strategies and technologies for resilient space and ground systems. We are looking for a Senior Electronics Technical Lead (Senior Project Leader – Electronics Engineering) who will be a leader in the development of electronic system requirements for boundary-pushing space systems and in assessing capabilities for resilient applications across the space enterprise.
This includes technical leadership over the design, development, testing and operations of electronics along with advising on system level requirements, end-to-end system analysis, and tailored risk reduction activities. As part of a small team of program office personnel on the west coast, the lead for this role is also responsible for representing the RFO Program Office across the Aerospace El Segundo community.
This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA which requires 100% onsite work.
What You’ll Be Doing- Acting as the principal technical representative on electronics related hardware such as integrated circuits, digital processers, and associated firmware across a portfolio of multiple projects that span a variety of maturity levels and lifecycle stages
- Defining and advising on initiatives for a variety of electronics acquisition, design, development, and test activities including design reviews, test events, and performance analyses
- Collaborating with cross-segment teams to test and integrate electronics subsystems into wider system applications and mission operations
- Guiding the development and maturation of both space and ground based electronics-related technologies and capabilities needed for next generation resilient space vehicles
- Identifying and pursuing new opportunities for Aerospace prototyping and technology risk reduction activities
- Building and leading Aerospace teams of program office staff and subject matter experts to assess and guide new developments or solve emerging problems in critical electronics technology areas
- Mentoring Aerospace team members to build leadership capabilities, strategic understanding, and space systems engineering expertise
- Serving as the senior program office representative in the El Segundo region, coordinating operations, facilities, and overall engagement with the West Coast team
Minimum Requirements for the Senior Project Leader – Electronics Engineering:
- Bachelor’s OR Advanced degree in a relevant engineering, mathematics, science, or related technical discipline
- Twelve (12) or more years of professional engineering experience with increasing responsibilities and applicable experience in engineering, technical, or strategic planning roles
- Recognized successful leadership of managing electronics hardware development through all phases of program maturity
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and coordinate the technical activities of multiple contributors across multiple disciplines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willing to travel domestically (up to 1 week per month)
