The Boeing Space and Launch Integrated Design Engineering organization is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Systems Design and Analysis Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join the Satellite Systems Thermal and Fluid Engineering Lab Team located in El Segundo, CA
. The selected candidate will be part of a high-performing engineering team that is immersed in development, qualification, and acceptance testing of Flight, Non-flight, and IRAD projects. This candidate will design and test to meet mechanical system and component requirements and establish mechanical systems design for Government and Commercial Satellite Programs.

• Support the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment
• Support the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers
• Perform detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installation
• Perform spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems
• Assist in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems
• Assist in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts
• Work under general supervision

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final T5 Post-Start is required.
This position is 100% Onsite.

• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
• Prior lab testing experience OR prior research experience (including undergraduate research)
• Experience analyzing and presenting technical data (oral or written)
• Works well in a small lab team – demonstrated teamwork capabilities
• Motivated self-starter/quick learner and takes ownership of work

  Education requirements:
  
  Bachelors + 2-5 years’ experience OR technical Masters OR PhD
• Level 3: 5 years or more of experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering
• Level 2: 3 years or more of experience working with mechanical system design
• Experience working with and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
• Experience with fluid and/or thermal systems
• Detail oriented
• Strong problem solving skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Experience with uncertainty analysis
• LabVIEW experience
• Experience with lab safety

Associate, Level 2:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
