This is a full-time, on-site role for a Private Equity Analyst/Associate at our El Segundo, CA headquarters. Candidates with one year of full-time investment banking experience will be considered for an Analyst position, and candidates with two or more years of applicable experience will be considered for an Associate position. CPC’s lean team structure provides tremendous partner-level exposure, direct interaction with portfolio company management teams and operating partners, and meaningful involvement in investment decisions from day one.
High-performing individuals will have opportunities to advance into senior investment roles with increasing responsibility, deal leadership, and portfolio oversight. - Financial modeling (LBO, DCF, comparable company analyses) for the evaluation and execution of investments and add-on acquisitions
- Due diligence across financial, operational, and commercial work streams, coordinating with third-party advisors and management teams
- Preparation of investment committee memoranda, management presentations, and other deal materials
- Industry and market research to support deal sourcing, thesis development, and competitive positioning
- Portfolio company monitoring, including monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analysis
- Analytical components of quarterly and annual investor reporting
- Deal sourcing support, including proprietary outreach, intermediary relationship management, and pipeline tracking
- Ad hoc financial analyses and general support of the firm’s investment activities
- 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, private credit, or a related field (e.g., transaction advisory, leveraged finance)
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier institution; concentration in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering preferred
- Advanced financial modeling skills, including LBO and DCF proficiency
- Expert-level command of Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple work streams and deliver under tight timelines
- Familiarity with Capital IQ, Pitch Book, or comparable research platforms is a plus
