The OpportunityMattel is currently looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to act as a critical member of the Global Supply Chain Finance Team. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager of the Global Supply Chain, this role’s primary responsibility will be to perform financial cost and variance analysis for over $3B in annual costs (~60% of total costs of sales) for in-house and vendor manufacturing.
WhatYour Impact Will Be
- Perform cost and variance analysis for actual and forecast reporting for Global Supply Chain and Global Procurement.
- Consolidate annual operating plans and budgets and communicate business performance against plans and the prior year.
- Participate in strategic initiatives that focus on the efficient utilization of resources and require in-depth financial analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Procurement and Sustainability teams to provide strategic business decision support.
- Translate bulk financial data from multiple systems into cohesive reporting and analysis to help drive/support decision‑making by Mattel’s cross‑functional executive leadership.
- Support ad‑hoc financial and strategic analysis related to key business unit initiatives.
- Become a subject matter expert on Mattel’s systems and coordinate with IT and Global Manufacturing Plants to ensure data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policy and Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience or MBA and 3+ years of related experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to think creatively, highly driven, self‑motivated, and intellectually curious.
- Flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously, understanding priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate, lead/facilitate meetings and develop/maintain relationships across the organization to enable practical completion of business objectives.
- Sound business judgment and ability to influence groups and more senior associates.
- The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
