Personal Banker I - Marina Del Rey General Function
The Person al Banker I position will provide an exceptional customer experience by cultivating, maintaining and enhancing long‑lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. This position processes teller transactions and works as part of the platform staff, helping customers understand and address their financial needs. The banker delivers solutions that span the customer's lifecycle using a consultative sales and service approach.
The role is responsible for risk management, following policies and procedures, and always acting in the best interest of customers and colleagues. Risk responsibilities include identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring and reporting all types of risks within the bank’s risk appetite.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining and enhancing relationships in a book of business through proactive outreach efforts in person, over the phone, or other appropriate channels.
- Use a consultative approach with current or prospective customers to uncover and identify their needs while tailoring recommendations, solutions and advice.
- Maintain working knowledge of products, services and processes offered.
- Work collaboratively with internal partners to ensure customers’ needs are met and all problems are resolved.
- Analyze customer credit data and related financial information to ensure customers are placed in appropriate solutions aligned with their needs.
- Provide customer support, reinforcing the value of current and new technology.
- Process teller transactions and adhere to balancing guidelines.
- Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other related policies, modeling the ethical behavior expected from every employee within the Bancorp.
Skills and Abilities
Required
- High School Diploma/GED and at least 6 months of customer service experience, or a college degree, or equivalent military experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a comfort level with both new household acquisitions and deepening customer relationships.
- Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication.
- Exhibits business acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions.
- Requires SAFE Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
- Normal office environment.
- Extending viewing of computer screens.
The base salary for this position reflects the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S.; individual salaries within this range vary based on role, relevant skill set, experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible for participation in an incentive compensation plan, based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
