Senior Financial Analyst
Location:
Los Angeles, CA (Internet Brands)
Internet Brands is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to act as the primary financial leader for a portfolio of our business units. This isn’t your standard variance‑reporting role. AI now handles much of the technical execution. We are looking for a strategic thinker who adds value beyond the spreadsheet. You’ll be a real partner to our General Managers: framing the questions that matter and turning analysis into decisions the business acts on.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Strategic Business Partnering:
Be embedded with your business units. You’ll be in the room when decisions get made, not writing the recap afterward. Act as the lead financial advisor to BU management, bring a clear point of view on the risks and opportunities, and take your recommendations straight to the C‑suite. - Direct AI‑Powered Analysis:
Put AI to work on the analytical heavy lifting and build the workflows that let it run on its own. You stay accountable for the output, including the judgment to catch where it’s wrong. - Drive Growth & Efficiency:
Spearhead special projects and strategic initiatives, and build the financial models and analysis that support key operational decisions. - Lead the FP&A Engine:
Own the monthly forecast and annual budget cycles for your portfolio. Keep them accurate, and keep pushing to simplify and automate the reporting until much of it runs without you.
- AI as a Thinking Partner:
You use AI to go faster and to think harder. Not as a shortcut to a first draft, but as a tool you direct, push on, and double‑check. - Financial Storytelling:
You can turn a messy data set into a crisp, 5‑slide story, and you have the confidence to defend your recommendations to C‑level executives. - Autonomous Problem Solver:
You have a track record of defining problems on your own, structuring the solution, and working with operations to actually make the change happen. - Modeling Fluency:
You can build a solid financial model when you need to, but what really matters is that you can look at one and tell when something’s off. Strong Excel skills are a given. - Data Judgment:
You’re comfortable with large, messy datasets and you can tell when the numbers are showing you something real versus something broken. - Experience:
3‑6+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, FP&A, strategic finance, or business operations. - Education:
BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a highly analytical field.
- Autonomy & Impact:
You’re the financial leader for your business. Your work directly influences both top‑line and bottom‑line outcomes. - Real Visibility:
Regular interaction with executive leadership and a front‑row seat to how enterprise‑level decisions get made. - Growth:
We’re serious about developing analysts: sharper modeling, better storytelling, and real business ownership. Advancement is tied to what you can do, not how long you’ve been here. - A Function Moving to the Frontier:
You’ll join a team that’s being rebuilt around AI from the ground up.
Starting at $85,000, compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition to our culture, we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health and well‑being of you and your family, including health insurance options (medical, dental, vision), flexible spending accounts, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, paid holidays, commuter benefits, employee assistance program, and voluntary benefits such as home, auto and pet insurance.
