Pay Range: USD $117,000 - $132,000 per year
The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range; base pay will be determined based on location, skills, and experience.
OverviewMattel's Financial Reporting Department is responsible for the global consolidation of financial statements, oversight of the monthly close process, and preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings. The group manages corporate accounting activities including share-based compensation, derivatives, employee benefits, and lease accounting, and serves as a technical accounting resource for the broader organization.
Responsibilities- Support preparation of SEC financial filings (10-K, 11-K, 10-Q, footnotes, MD&A, XBRL).
- Review internal and external communications such as board presentations, earnings releases, scripts, and presentations.
- Participate in consolidation processes, preparing monthly/quarterly journal entries (e.g., share-based compensation, derivatives, benefit plans).
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages.
- Perform balance sheet and income statement variance analyses.
- Support review of significant contracts and appropriate US GAAP accounting.
- Provide accounting guidance on newly issued rules and transaction implications.
- Execute special projects and transactions and prepare ad hoc financial reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience;
Big 4 preferred. - CPA desirable.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of Oracle Cloud FCCS consolidation module preferred.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and structured thinking skills.
