Booz Allen Ventures Associate

Booz Allen Hamilton Ventures, a $300M corporate venture capital fund, is seeking an Associate to manage investment opportunities, inform investment theses in key categories, and support fund leadership with due diligence and fund operations. The Associate will project manage active deals through the investment process, conduct due diligence, and regularly meet with founders and investors. The Booz Allen Hamilton Ventures team will source, negotiate, and execute investments in early companies, such as Seed through Series B, and follow‑on rounds, consistent with the fund’s investment strategy.

The fund focuses on sectors aligned with Booz Allen Hamilton’s innovation theses, such as Defense Technology, Data Science, Space, Quantum and Deep Tech, and targeted platforms such as Cybersecurity and Defense Technology Group.

What You’ll Do:
  • Due diligence:
    Support all aspects of the deal review process, including quantitative analysis such as financial modeling and sensitivity analysis, competitor and market scans, customer and investor interviews, and technology reviews. Also support negotiations with investment targets.
  • Deal origination and screening:
    Identify and source strong investment opportunities in key focus sectors, and review a high‑volume of inbound pipeline to triage relevant opportunities.
  • Market research:
    Perform in‑depth research to support new and existing investment thesis development, including producing written research/analysis, sector presentations, white papers, and investment memos for the Booz Allen Hamilton Ventures team and Booz Allen stakeholders.
  • Tool management:
    Manage internal pipeline and portfolio management tools and contribute to internal‑facing reporting on portfolio health and investment theses. Coordinate with relevant internal teams such as legal and accounting through deal processes.
  • Portfolio engagement:
    Support commercial engagements, such as pilots, between portfolio companies and Booz Allen, in addition to utilizing Booz Allen Ventures’ collective networks to drive value for the portfolio.
  • Networking:
    Develop relationships with relevant founders, VCs, and corporate executives, along with key internal stakeholders, to support new investment and portfolio management activities.
  • Marketing:
    Help extend Booz Allen Ventures’ reach in key communities by hosting and attending industry events and producing written or audio/video content such as podcasts.
You Have:
  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or a technology company.
  • Experience conducting financial analysis, financial modeling, valuation assessments, and investment diligence activities.
  • Experience evaluating technology companies, startup business models, market opportunities, and competitive landscapes.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and coordinating stakeholders across cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience developing written analyses, investment memoranda, presentations, or executive‑level briefings.
  • Knowledge of venture capital investing, startup ecosystems, and emerging technology markets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with founders, investors, executives, and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative information to support business and investment decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800 to $198,000 annualized USD, with additional benefits including health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care.
