Job Summary:

As the first point of contact for employees and under the direction of senior HR leadership, the Human Resources Coordinator plays an impactful role in creating a positive and helpful HR experience, promoting the organization’s values and culture by providing professional, confidential, consistent, prompt, and polite service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide employee support on various HR related topics and respond professionally and timely to routine staff inquiries; escalate complex and/or sensitive issues to the appropriate HR staff.
  • Oversee the HR team’s group email box, serving as first point of contact for employee HR-related questions, referring to other HR team members as needed.
  • Provide consistent interpretation of company policies and procedures.
  • Support HR deliverables including but not limited to performance management, merit and bonus awards, open enrollment, and employee referral program payouts.
  • Under the direction of senior HR leaders, maintain and ensure compliance with applicable equal employment opportunity (EEO) and related employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirement as well as with company policies.
  • Enter new hire information into HRIS system; assist with password re-sets.
  • Maintain HR data, documents, and files with an audit mindset; create ad hoc reports from system and audit data as needed.
  • Manage and deliver flawless onboarding process including communication with new hire; completion of all necessary documents, benefits enrollment, background checks, and other compliance requirements.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to HR team including but not limited to scheduling meetings, making copies, preparing new hire packets, responding to verifications of employment per company policy, and similar support functions.
  • Create all separation documents for terminating employees and ensure all separation transactions are performed timely.
  • Handle worker’s compensation incidents and communications with affected employee; maintain OSHA logs.
  • Assist with payroll processing; prepare payroll documents, review timecard accuracy, and identify and resolve issues with employees and supervisors.
  • Process, or assist with, staff data changes, including pay adjustments and benefit changes in payroll system.
  • Regularly update organizational chart.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED required, Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least two (2) years of Human Resources or Administrative experience required
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Outlook Email required; HRIS experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of employment legislation and compliance requirements, HR policies, and best practices in a multistate environment required
  • Service-oriented and personable team player with high degree of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in work environment and schedules, prioritize responsibilities to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and respond quickly to concerns
  • Strong attention to detail as well as organizational, analytical, and documentation skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication, as well as decision-making, skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to tolerate frequent interruptions and seamlessly return to the task at hand
